Chattanooga Film Festival 2016: Too Late

Back at the beginning of April, I was able to go to the Chattanooga Film Festival with Mass Listeria (thanks again, Daniel and Tim, for bringing me on board...puns and all).  For four days, the Majestic Theater in Chattanooga was filled with movie lovers of all shapes and sizes.  Comedy, horror, drama, documentaries, short films, animated films, independent films...the festival had movies for everyone, regardless of tastes.  Over the next several posts, I will be posting my reviews of the movies that I saw there (in the order that I saw them).  Next up - Too Late.

The CFF program description for Too Late was:  Too Late explores the tangled relationship between a troubled private investigator (Oscar nominee John Hawkes; Winter's Bone, Deadwood) and the missing woman he's hired to find.

The CFF program description for It was a Colossal Teenage Movie Machine!:  The American International Pictures Story was:  Bug-eyed aliens!  Towering monsters!  Swinging surfers!  Tripping hippies!  Rowdy bikers!  The 1950s and 1960s wouldn't have been the same without American-International Pictures.  While major studios were bankrolling "prestige" films for adults, this atomic-age movie company produced low-budget, exploitation fare for the drive-in audience.

The CFF program description for Baskin was:  A squad of unsuspecting cops goes through a trapdoor to Hell when they stumble upon a Black Mass in an abandoned building.  Baskin is the feature film debut of Turkish director Can Evernol and is expanded from his 2013 short.

Redneck Night with Joe Bob Briggs was a live show and not a movie, but description of the event in the CFF program was:  For one night and one night only, internationally acclaimed drive-in movie critic Joe Bob Briggs explains how rednecks saved the movie industry.  Using scenes from the greatest redneck performances in history, he celebrates the triumph of his people.  Last year at CFF, Joe Bob got a standing ovation for his quick-and-dirty history of the South in film, so reserve early.  He promises to omit the Ned Beatty rape scene this time.

Since it was a live show, there wasn't a trailer.  But, here is a video of an interview with Joe Bob Briggs from the CFF.

Show Yourself was a secret screening at the Chattanooga Film Festival, so there was not a description of the movie in the program.  I have also not been able to find a trailer of the movie.  But, the description on IMDB is:  "He came to let go.  Something wouldn't let him"
